Software Platform
ThinAir’s Internet-centric ASP architecture creates an industry-leading business model for providing telematics services that eliminates the need for excessive human intervention (e.g. OnStar).
ThinAir has identified best-of-breed telematics hardware from a variety of suppliers and has developed an ASP platform comprised of a wireless gateway, mapping software, database, reporting and billing systems - all combined to manage the data collected from remote assets and report results to clients.
ThinAir Wireless web application and database servers are built on the Microsoft .NET platform.
All transactions processed with ThinAir’s hardware and supporting web applications/databases is processed in a secure, state-of-the-art data center.
This data center will provide multiple redundancies in information flow “to-and-from” the data center and end users.
Hardware Platform
ThinAir’s hardware module can be discretely placed or installed in vehicles, or anywhere a user has an object that requires remote tracking and control.
Tests in non-traditional testing environments, such as interior offices within structures, have proven that GPS location data has not been delayed nor decayed.
This all-in-one integrated hardware/software architecture guarantees 100% uptime, protects against power loss and hardware failure, enhances security, and maintains optimal network performance. The data center allows ThinAir to scale up web and/or database services as needed.
ThinAir Wireless telematics solutions integrate GPS, terrestrial mobile communication technologies(GSM/CDMA), and the Internet to provide real-time location based services across a variety of industry segments and price points.
ThinAir has developed its own proprietary telematics platform--both hardware and Internet- based tracking software--and as a result, is in a strong position to be able to control the cost of its products and services and offer innovative solutions for the ever-demanding customer.
Products include wireless hardware and software services running on cellular and satellite networks, offering Automatic Vehicle Location, Mapping, Reporting, Vehicle Maintenance, Driver Status, In-Vehicle Telemetry, Messaging, In-Vehicle Navigation, and Wireless Application and Internet connectivity.

Competitive Advantage of ThinAir’s Solution:
ThinAir’s Telematics services are delivered via the world wide web using an Application Service Provider (ASP) delivery model. ThinAir provides its users with direct monitoring and control over their own assets without the necessity of a human intermediary in most cases.
ThinAir believes that its “Internet-centric” business model based on Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communications provides significant cost and service level advantages over many of its competitors’ business models that are “call center-centric” (e.g. OnStar).
Telematics customers choose service providers on the basis of functionality, price, ease of use, quality and geographic coverage area. The advantages of the Company’s products and services relative to its competition are:
The cost of our telematics services are approximately 50% less than competitor services because unlike some competitors that only deliver services through contact with a customer service representative (“CSR”), ThinAir utilizes an application services provider (“ASP”) model that automates service delivery. This allows the Company to provide its users with direct control over their assets, while minimizing the need for expensive customer service representative intervention.
The User can access the location of their vehicle and control functions on the vehicle from any device (PC, PDA, Cell, Pager etc).
Apart from service delivery cost advantages, our ASP model also means that ThinAir can scale more rapidly without being constrained by our ability to hire customer service representatives or build out customer service representative positions in our customer call center.
Other advantages include:
- Low cost, low power consumption requirements (GPS Receiver can be as small as the size of a dime).
- View maps and reports including street level mapping, limited or no dead spots!
- Return on Investment in 30 days or less for most businesses.
- Easy to use and easy to install.
- All-inclusive packages with no need to purchase additional software or hardware.
- Capability to monitor Speed, Location, Length of Stops, etc.
Units easily integrate with Digital GSM/GPRS or CDMA technologies or may be used as standalone devices for personal data gathering, thus making the hardware offering options versatile and attractive to all consumers.
